Libraries and Healthwatch

HealthwatchSelectionLibrariFor a long while local Healthwatch services have been making good use of the public libraries’ position at the heart of our community.  As you know our libraries keenly use their library bookmarks to share news and promote initiatives to library users and beyond. Here are just two examples of how Healthwatch are backing libraries in Essex and Walsall.  We have similar campaigns in numerous other regions – an apple a day keeps the doctor away, and a good book can help too!

The libraries in Lancashire:

Lancashire has 80 library sites that see more than 273,000 visits a fortnight. The Healthwatch message is being distributed via library bookmarks featuring Ebooks, Children’s ebooks, Digital resources, and the Ask a Librarian service.

The libraries in Walsall:

Walsall4ForHW Walsall’s 20 library sites see more than 69,000 visits a fortnight. The Healthwatch promotion is being distributed with library bookmarks promoting Sunday Opening, the “Friend” scheme, Pheasey Library, and the Schools Library Service.
